Each night when I lay in my bed,
I say a little prayer....
For all the soldiers, not at home,
Pray they're safe in God's care.

I think of how I spend my days,
Walk about unafraid...
And tears fill up my eyes at thought,
Of heavy price that's paid.

I find that I am much perplexed,
And wonder at the hate...
That darkens souls of mankind,
Is carried like some weight.

I search each day for answers to
How this all came about...
I question wisdom of a war,
That's filled with so much doubt.

I think if Jesus were in charge,
There never would be war...
Love was the message he taught,
No violence to mar.

If there were peace throughout the world,
It's then we'd understand...
That war is not the answer,
Just friendship, not demand.
